You might have a picatinny rail that doesn't have a QD attachment point, or that attachment point may be covered. Or you just might not like where it's located. We are big fans of QD or Quick Detach connections for slings, so having that option is important to us. This magpul QD attachment point is great because the angle allows for it to really stay close to the rail, which can be a challenge when attaching something like this to picatinny.
