Why we like these:
These are the "legacy" model LT209 that are now discontinued. They are more or less the same as the newer model, but with the older logo which some people prefer. We have very limited quantities of these and once they're gone that's it!
First of all, Quad Squad for life.
Quad rails build character. We prefer them because they make adding and removing attachments faster and easier, and act as heat sinks when running hot guns. Also, they're an undeniable vibe.
These LaRue quad rail handguards are some of the most robust we've ever used. A few things features we love about these:
- Completely CNC machined from bar stock aluminum, making them rock solid with almost ZERO deflection. Ideal for running passive aiming devices like lasers on your rail. You can be positive your device is holding zero with these.
- Integrated steel reinforced QD sockets. If you run QDs, you can be confident these will hold up over time.
- Rail cuts for KAC style rail covers. These are our favorite rail cover option for quads, but they need the special cuts to properly lock into place. So obviously we're pumped that these are an included feature.
- Low Profile bottom and side rails for a little less bulk and weight.
All in all these quad rails are some of the absolute most bomb proof handguards on the market today, up there with your other high tier options. They may be in on the higher end of the price scale, but you absolutely get your. money's worth with these.
Some notes:
- We recommend a low profile gas block with these. Larger gas blocks will have clearance issues.
- These can be a bit of a challenge to install. If you are not comfortable installing parts like this on your rifle, we highly recommend that you take it to your local professional gunsmith (not your friend the gumsmif).
- If you are doing the install, you will want something like this PRI Barrel Nut Wrench with extended steel pins to reach the barrel nut holes. You will also want a strap wrench on hand for final tightening.
