The ambidextrous design you are familiar with with other brands, and a raised rear lip to help mitigate gas blowback to the face when shooting suppressed. While these channels are optimized for the BCM MK2 Upper receiver, they still provide improved gas diversion on all Mil-Spec upper receivers.
